Work Modalities and New Challenges for the Business World

In a globalized world that is constantly evolving and changing, it is imperative that companies can transform and adapt quickly to changes in the sector. One of the most complex changes we have experienced in recent decades has been in the way we work. The pandemic accelerated the adoption of different work modalities, such as hybrid and remote work. However, while this change facilitates and optimizes employees' time and connectivity, it has presented a challenge for organizations in terms of:
To build a stronger labor relations,
To transmit corporate values and
Strengthening corporate identity within companies
Companies have been forced to adapt to these new ways of working, designing clear policies, providing the necessary tools, and creating an organizational culture that fosters collaboration and productivity in virtual environments.
Advantages and disadvantages
Retaining and attracting talent within companies are the main concerns of employers globally. This comes at a time when more than a third (34%) of employees in Latin America are considering new career paths and are willing to change jobs in the next 12 months (the same percentage as globally).
It is noteworthy that Generation Z is the most open to these changes (38%), followed by Millennials (36%). Interestingly, this figure contrasts with the perception of 22% of employers who believe their employees will change companies within the same period. Overall, the gap between the perceptions of employers and employees in Latin America is wider than in other parts of the world.
These figures significantly impact knowledge transfer to younger generations within an organization. On the other hand, implementing talent retention strategies that resonate with new employees presents a challenge. These strategies, which must reflect employee priorities, will build trust, improve retention, and ultimately deliver greater impact and value to the company.
Companies face the challenge of attracting and retaining qualified personnel, training them, and ensuring knowledge transfer through well-structured processes. Those that manage to adapt to new work modalities and create an attractive and motivating work environment will be better prepared for future success.
